The camp is available for everyone who is at least 21 years old by July 7, 2024.
- First and foremost, please bring your “Can Do Attitude” with your desire to meet some great people, your desire to learn more about the guitar, and possibly get out of your comfort zone.
- Please bring an acoustic guitar with a shoulder strap, as well as a protective bag to keep it safe from harm when moving from location to location. We will be providing plenty of picks and a capo for everyone.
- From a sleeping standpoint, bring your own pillow, sheets, and blankets.
- Bring your own towels and toiletries.
- As far as clothing, we just say to prepare for Indiana summer weather.
Check the weather forecast in advance for what you may wear while outdoors, but we will be spending the majority of the time in the air-conditioning.
Please dress for comfort!
We would love for everyone to bring an acoustic guitar; however, you are also able to bring along an electric guitar. We will be using amplification at times with some of the performances. But for the sake of keeping things a tad more quiet during the camp, we encourage the acoustic models for the majority of the camp.
No pets please. We love pets, but not at the camp, thank you!
No bad attitudes either. We have never liked them with our football players either, thank you!
Absolutely! One of the first things we will do is place everyone in four different skill groups. Our goal is that everyone be comfortable and challenged to learn some new things. It is very possible that some may start in one skill group and be able to change to another, if this is what they want to do. This will be their decision. We are totally flexible!
Yes, we will be having a variety of instructors, and plan to have each of them share some of their knowledge with the whole group. Our goal is to have one instructor for every 8-10 students. The key to being a great instructor is the ability to teach and develop relationships, helping the student gain confidence in themselves.
The goal of Teamwork Guitar is to instruct beginners on the fundamentals of music and the guitar. With the variety of instructors, as well as the variety ofthe interests of the students in attendance, this should allow for the many genres of music such as Pop, Folk, Country, Rock, Christian and Bluegrass to flow through the camp.
Everyone will have their own private dorm room in Elsey Hall. Each room has two single beds and two desks, just like the college students are provided. Males and females will be placed on different floors. All rooms are air conditioned, and there are restrooms and showers on each wing of the dorm.
Absolutely. We just ask that you please contact us and let us know in advance about this. There are plenty of nice shopping opportunities in the Franklin community, as well as local coffeeshops. They are more than welcome to occasionally eat in the cafeteria with the whole TEAM. Consider us as “the camp that cares!” No extra charge.
Yes. But we will still have to charge you the same cost as everyone else.
Parkhurst Dining Service is the company that provides service on the Franklin College campus. They provide excellent service and will have a selection of foods to choose from at each meal. If you have any dietary restrictions, they will be able to meet your needs. And YES, there will be plenty of coffee and flavored creamers available each morning, as well as throughout the day.
The Wi-Fi works great! Everyone will be provided with a guest login and password at check-in. The cellular service in the Franklin area is also very strong.
It is a 30 to 35-minute drive from Indianapolis International Airport to Franklin College. Take the exit out of the airport and we would recommend staying on I-70 East towards downtown Indy, heading by Lucas Oil Stadium before getting on 1-65 South. Stay on 65 for 20 miles toward Franklin at Exit 90.
In today’s world, just use your phone GPS and punch in Franklin College. Check-in will be located in the lobby of Elsey Hall. There will be plenty of parking available in the Elsey Hall parking lot on the north and eastsides of the dorm.
We vow to make this Teamwork Guitar Camp experience a great one for everybody involved. The cost will include all the instruction, the food, the housing, and all the fun allowed under Indiana Law. We aim to please with the motto, “Together We Learn.”
No, sorry. We are developing a TEAM. We want you to plan on being here for the full camp to get the full experience!
We definitely understand that things may happen that we don’t anticipate in advance. We’ve all been in those shoes. Plan on us being very reasonable. We plan to be friends for life!
We are thankful to be in partnership with the Central Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes. FCA has been such an amazing influence over the years. We are excited to be involved with them in this adventure!
